On Wednesday 19th June, a group of 40 students from IES Bezmiliana (Rincón de la Victoria) visited Amazonia, an adventure park in Nature near Marbella (Málaga, Spain) together with 4 teachers. They enjoyed the “risky” activities such as climbing walls, hanging bridges, zip line, … choosing among different levels according to their individual skills and provided with all security measures. It was an amazing day, full of laughter and challenge

Last May our students spent a day at Bioparc in Fuengirola(Málaga), a new concept of zoo where animals live as similar as posible as in their real habitats.

To improve students’ personal authonomy we planned the activity with no school transport; so they took the public bus to Málaga city centre from our town and there they walked to the train station and took a train to Fungirola and then walked to Bioparc.

They listened carefully to the monitor who was with us all the morning . They saw a show with birds and watched some interesting moments such as with lemurs

As it was planned in the Project Schedule, our students started to grow plants during the second term. They started cleaning some old pots we had at school and then learnt to prepare a proper substrate. After that we chose some easy to care plants, most of them suculents, and also aromatic plants.

We are doing this once a week although some times they go watering their pots also in the middle of the week.

They have also arranged with plants some decorated boxes by themselves and will give them to some teachers as a present at the end of school year.

In order to celebrate Peace Day at school on January 30th, Bezmiliana students performed a song in Sign Language. We chose Michael Jackson’s famous “We are the World” and adapted for the ocassion, making it simple and easy to performed by the audience, in this case, the whole school. Our students in the Project from Second and Fourth year rehearsed the song with our sign language interpreter and speech therapist teacher.
